THIS IS OUR UNIQUE HISTORY

In
1983, under the leadership of Rev. Winn Allison, Mrs. Lucille Cox and her husband Leo Cox along with a handful of other Nazarene members had a burden to reach out to the Laotian refugees resttlement in Elgin area.
In
1987-88, under the leadership of Rev. Robert Clark, Mr. Vorachit Kounthapanya from the Lao Nazarene

Church in Chicago was called to serve as a church planter in Elgin. At that time the Lao Congregation only met on every other Sunday while Pastor Vorachit was on loan from Lao Nazarene Church in Chicago. Later, Pastor Sisouphanh, a cousin of Vorachit, was asked to fill in the pulpit on a monthly basis.
In 1988, the Laotian Church of the Nazarene was officially organized by the Chicago Central District under the leadership of Dr. Keith Bottles, District Superintendent.
In 1991-95, Pastor Phengphone Chanthalansy and Evangelist Lao Vang's team from the Lao Evangelical Free Church in Rockford, IL had come to help during the transitional years after Mr.Vorachit moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In
1996, under the leadership of Rev. Brian Wrangler, Rev. Sisouphanh a former minister from the Christian and Missionary Alliance (little did he know ) because of he is the relative of Vorachit that he would be called to re-organize the Laotian ministry. And he has served as a full-time pastor for the Laotian Congregation since.
(Rev. Wrangler officially presented the Church Sign to the Lao Congregation for the first time.)
In 2001, under the leadership of Rev. Rodney J. Miller, Senior Pastor of Elgin Church of the Nazarene and Dr. Brian Wilson, District Superintendent, the Laotian ministry became a part of Multi-Cultural Congregation of Elgin Church of the Nazarene for a greater harvest.
In 2006, with a passion for renewal and relevance, the Laotian Congregation changed its name to New Harvest Outreach Church of the Nazarene.
In 2008, New Harvest Outreach Church of the Nazarene reached a milestone of reaching Laotians for Christ by celebrating the 20th Anniversary since the church was first organized.
